The New York Film Critics Series screening for December will feature a special pre-release preview of Columbia Picture’s American Hustle with a live appearance by the film’s Oscar- nominated director and co-writer David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook, The Fighter). The film features an all-star cast including Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence. A gripping film set in the alluring world of one of the most stunning scandals to rock our nation, American Hustle tells the story of brilliant 1970s con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for a wild FBI agent Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). Like David O. Russell’s previous films, American Hustle defies genre, hinging on raw emotion and life or death stakes. American Hustle is directed by David O. Russell. Written by Eric Warren Singer and David O. Russell. Produced by Charles Roven, Richard Suckle, Megan Ellison, and Jonathan Gordon.
